Alabama Family Central is a collaboration of state agencies and partners supporting Alabama's families with resources, services and more to help raise healthy, happy kids. By simplifying online search for support available in our state, Alabama Family Central helps Alabama families grow stronger. With access to vetted resources, programs and services, families can search Alabama Family Central confidently, find answers quickly, and get one step ahead. A committee guides the development and oversees the administration of the website. The Alabama Partnership for Children manages the project.

Family Guidance Center
Family Guidance Center of Alabama is dedicated to strengthening families through partnering with families, organizations, and communities and through the provision of an accessible comprehensive system of coordinated programs and services designed to enable people of all ages in Alabama to envision and achieve their goals. Their services include counseling, parenting education, marriage enrichment, mentoring, services for business and industry, child care support services, senior services, adult day care, career development, job training and other therapeutic services for families.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.
After launching in 1995, the program grew quickly. First books were only distributed to children living in Sevier County, Tennessee where Dolly grew up. It became such a success that in 2000 a national replication effort was underway. By 2003, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library had mailed one million books. It would prove to be the first of many millions of books sent to children around the world.

Easterseals Alabama
Easterseals, nationally, is the leading non-profit provider of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical and mental disabilities, and other special needs. Through therapy, training, education, and support services, Easterseals Alabama creates life-changing solutions so that people with disabilities can live, learn, work and play in their communities. Easterseals Alabama was founded in 1926 as the Alabama Society for Crippled Children. The organization works to enhance the lives of children and adults with the disabilities as well as their families.

Born Ready
90% of a child’s brain develops from birth to age five. Born Ready is an initiative from the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education (ADECE) focused on raising awareness among Alabama parents of the importance of early brain development and high-quality early care and education. The mission of ADECE is to inspire and support parents and caregivers, as well as to deliver cohesive, comprehensive systems of top-quality education and care so that all Alabama children thrive and learn. Born Ready is not only developed to inform parents; it’s designed to empower them and give them access to the tools they need to be their children’s first and best teacher.

Alabama Department of Human Resources
The Department of Human Resources traces its history back to the Department of Child Welfare, created by the Legislature in 1919 to serve at-risk children and families. In 1933, the department gained the additional responsibility of administering financial assistance to a struggling American public. In 1935 with the passage of the Social Security Act, the department and most of its duties were absorbed by the newly created Department of Public Welfare. The Alabama Department of Human Resources helps families receive the least disruptive services they need, when they need them, for only as long as they need them in order to maintain children in or return them to a safe, stable home.

The mission of the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education is to innovate, support, and deliver cohesive, equitable systems of high-quality care and education so that Alabama children and families thrive and learn. The Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education (ADECE) is a state agency working to provide young children throughout the state of Alabama high-quality care and education. The ADECE serves children from birth to age 8 through a variety of services and programs.

Alabama CASA
The mission of the Alabama CASA Network, Inc. is to equip and empower CASA programs to advocate for all of Alabama’s abused and neglected children. Their vision is that all abused or neglected children will obtain a volunteer to advocate on their behalf so that they can thrive. On the state level, Alabama CASA Network serves as the parent organization providing support, technical assistance, guidance and quality assurance to help local programs operate effectively and recruit the best possible volunteers.

The Family Support Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit Family Resource Center that was founded in 1997 with a mission to improve the quality of life for children and families in the River Region through education, advocacy, and employment. Through their many programs, they are able to fulfill this mission, make stronger individuals, families and communities. All programs, classes and trainings offered through the Center are FREE! The Center is primarily funded through federal, state and local grants, as well as, through fundraisers and donations.

Butterfly Bridge Children's Advocacy Center
Every day children victimized by abuse come to the Butterfly Bridge Children's Advocacy Center where they find caring professionals and community partners who dedicate themselves to helping them through the nightmare of abuse and neglect. The Center provides a friendly environment where children can safely tell their story and receive the support they need. Partners include local law enforcement, child protective services, therapists, caseworkers, interns, nurses, and volunteers.

River Region Pregnancy Center in Prattville, Alabama, provides professional and compassionate medical care for pregnancy and sexual health-related services in Prattville. The COUNCIL ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE (COSA) is a 501 (c)(3) private non-profit organization founded in 1973 to promote the understanding that alcoholism and other drug dependence are preventable and treatable diseases. As a member of the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America (CADCA), COSA’s programs and services designed to: PREVENT or DELAY the onset of substance use disorders and related behavioral health issues. EDUCATE and INFORM the public on substance use disorders and related behavioral health issues. ENCOURAGE and SUPPORT proper diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and long-term recovery for individuals with substance use disorders and their families.
